Post Occupancy Evaluation (POE)

Post Occupancy Evaluation (POE) is a detailed assessment of an existing buildings performance and identifies areas where improvements can be made.

POE differs from most building assessment techniques in that it uses data from the building 'in use' rather than relying on static modelling such as BREEAM and other assessment methodologies.

We collect energy data, via strategically placed monitors, to establish how much & for what processes energy is being used in the building. These can reveal over/under heating issues, humidity problems and also acoustic considerations.

We also interview building users to identify the perceived building performance and areas of concern in the actual use of the building.

We can then test the building to provide clear information about the building fabric with regard its condition and use.

Our report details the results of the investigation and how the building performs and rates against benchmark buildings of a similar type. The report also contains a set of 'no cost', 'low cost' and 'high cost' recommendations on how to improve on the results of the evaluation together with guidance on the levels of improvement that could be achieved.
